Company History
Starting its long history in customer and payment management, Appletree traded from the turn of the century from its offices in Arlesey and Wolverhampton UK, until beginning its operations in Mauritius in April 2004. The company set up its offshore operation in Vacoas, within a 5500 sq. ft. facility, with over 85 operational call centre and BPO processing desks. Mauritius was selected because of its stable investment friendly regulatory regime, open to foreign investors and holding a strong consortium of human resource and talents.
In 2018, we relocated our operations to Windsor building, Beau-Bassin. This move was in parallel to our shift in business model from BPO to a more specialised payment processing fintech. Making the best use of latest technological advances in online payment and touch technology to drive innovation in the financial local industry, our technical platform decentralised and became able to operate entirely from the ‘cloud’ harnessing Amazon’s AWS hosting facilities to provide a global dependable reach for our service.
What The Company Does
With our roots firmly in customer service and subscription billing, Appletree offers tried and tested payment processing products as well as a contact centre facility with some of the best customer service specialists to be found. Our front end customer support team grew its experience managing customer contact from major subscription and Pay Per View television channels in the UK and Europe. Subscription and online billing became a speciality over the years, and we offer our integration and website services to any business that wants to take their sales journey online.
As our own services expanded, we found that compliance was an increasing requirement, and full compliance with the PCI DSS as a service provider was necessary. Embracing this challenge, we set about to find products and services that could help our journey to securely service our customers in a compliant manner. Upon struggling to find that service, we built it ourselves, and now offer our own PCI DSS Level One audited compliant platform as a Visa registered Service Provider to all our merchants seeking a payment integration service that takes away the heavy security load.

PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is the global data security standard that any business of any size must adhere to in order to accept payments card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discovery) and to store, process and / or transmit cardholder data. It presents common sense steps that mirror best security practices.
Appletree (Mauritius) maintains full audited compliance with the PCI DSS as a Level One Service Provider, demonstrating a clear commitment and effort to ensure data security amongst card payment processes, and to take clear steps to ensure all data is held, processed and transmitted securely. This external audit attests to the way all management, storage and processing of payment card & customer data is carried out, and is the standard required of the world’s largest merchants and processors. This audit is an endorsement of Appletree’s security standards and allows it to process large volumes of transactions for any merchant.
Appletree maintains a registration with Visa as a validated Third Party Service Provider.
